Michigan's Gold Coast
"...Lake Michigan's Gold Coast [is] perhaps the USA's most unexpected beach getaway. Some argue that these shores rival Hawaii's and Southern California's. Along 300 miles of seemingly endless beaches lie sugar-white dunes, wineries, antiquing, U-pick orchards and berry farms, cider houses, Hemingway haunts – you can even go surfing. In Michigan! So if you never thought you could head to the Midwest for a Cape Cod-esque beach vacation, think again."

Pentwater, Michigan is a quaint and charming village, ideally situated on the shores of Lake Michigan and Pentwater Lake. The town is located directly south of Ludington, directly north of Silver Lake, and a relatively short drive from Muskegon (35 min) or Grand Rapids (80 min).
As visitors wind their way past Pentwater Lake and enter the village, the first sight they'll be greeted with is a peaceful, mast-filled harbor, reminiscent of the New England coast. Continuing through town guests will find numerous boutique clothing stores, art galleries and antique shops, and delicious restaurants to sample. At the north end of town, our tour turns west to Pentwater State Park, one of Michigan's finest public beaches. These sandy shores are the source of countless summer memories. Live music and band concerts, delicious local farmer's markets, volleyball on the beach, and days spent fishing and boating; it all awaits.
Pentwater is known primarily as a beautiful beach town destination during the summer months, but the area also makes for an excellent escape in the autumn as the leaves change, the winter months for ice fishing, cross country skiing, or snowmobile enthusiasts, or during the spring as the flowers bloom. The off season, without the crowds, can actually be much more relaxing for guests.
Regardless of when you come, we're confident that you'll fall in love with our village as we have, and will return again and again
